Hi to all my visitors,

I wanted to say thanks to all you guys who have been visiting “The Cricket blog”, posting your comments and also participating in the blogging competition. I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I am extremely grateful for the response that the website has received.

I started the blog before the 2007 Cricket World Cup and have been trying to keep the content coming in almost every day. It is really my passion for the game and the enormous response that the blog has received which keeps me going, I feel obligated to my visitors to provide rich quality content.

Since my first post (which was on the 16th of Feb), the blog has come a long way, both in functionality and the type of content that I post. I generally write my posts after doing a little bit of research as I don’t intend to provide incorrect info. For example, all the match/player stats are siphoned from Cricinfo.

I don’t host or download any match highlights, they are available on the internet. I just add them at the end of each match report, so that you guys don’t have to go searching for the highlights yourself, its all located at one place. With regards to scorecards, its pointless to put them into my posts as that would make the post too long, so I just paste the links.

Just to put into perspective how far the blog has come, at the start of posting, Alexa.com had ranked the site at 2,000,000+. In less than a year, the rank has come down to around 110,000. Unique visitors are coming in atleast 1000+ every day and on match days this can go upto 4000-5000 with almost 8000-9000 page views. These figures may not sound too high, but for me it means a big achievement as I never intended my blog to become this busy.

As always, I will be posting everything and anything related to Indian cricket, but it will not be just for the sake of writing. With my work schedule getting busier by the day, it takes a lot of effort to spare time to concentrate on my blog, so I will not be looking at making any structural changes to the overall design. I am going to give a facelift to the blog, but that will only happen sometime next year as I am going to get a professional company to build a brand new template, hopefully with two sidebars.

Before I end this post, I would once again like to say a big thanks to all my new and regular visitors. This blog has been a big success from my point of view and that itself will motivate me to provide quality, well researched and fun stuff.
