India vs Australia, 2008 – Second Test Final Day
I am not going to write about the fourth day, as the final day of the second test is going to be talked about for a long time to come. I was absolutely disgusted with the way this test has finished and from and Indian fan’s point of view I am of the opinion that to hell with it all. India should forfeit all their remaining matches and come back home before the One Day series. But that’s just me talking in an emotional state. After the embarrassment at MCG a couple of weeks ago, this test should have been sealed in three day’s time with India as victorious. However, when 11 players play against 13, it is not a fair contest. Yes sir, I am talking about 11 Australians and 2 Umpires that fielded this match against India.
The disappointment started from Day 1 itself. Ricky Ponting was given a repreive, then Andrew Symonds survived 3 calls. Yet, when it came to bat India were always at the receiving end of each and every decision. It seems that when it comes to playing against Australia, the opposing teams always have to play against the umpires as well. The utter nonsense of umpiring in this match must leave a lot of spectators disillusioned. The people back home must be pissed off.
And then we turn to the attitude of the Australian players themselves. At one point it’s OK for them to sledge any player, but when something gets sent back it quickly becomes racist. Let me be very clear on the Bhajji row, Andrew Symonds and the rest of the Australian bullies are no saints. To presume that Harbhajan used the “Monkey” word is wrong until it is proven that he did say that.
Ricky Ponting will never walk if given out, or for that matter, none of the Aussies walk, and they are never fined for dissent. Yet when Yuvraj Singh stayed at his crease, we hear reports that ICC chief Malcolm Speed is f###ing not happy with Match Referee Mike Proctor. Where the bloody hell is the justice in that. Over the last 25 years that I have watched cricket, I know one thing for sure, if you belong to a team from the sub-continent, you can forget that Umpiring decisions will ever benefit you. The BCCI HAS to take a hard stance to this. They MUST use their financial muscle now.
What hurts most is the celebrations that the Aussies made at the end of the match. Absolutely rubbish I say. They did not win this match. The two Idiots who were umpiring handed it to them on a silver platter. I am not afraid to say this, but it seemed that this match was FIXED after looking over the last 5 days of cricket. Rahul Dravid was not out today and yet he was given out. Dhoni may not have offered a shot, but he was well outside the off-stump when the ball hit him and on a turning wicket like this, to give a batsman out is a complete no-no. I am a 100% sure that an Australian would have survived an LBW appeal.
Even RP Singh should consider himself unlucky as Hawkeye proved the ball was barely clipping the bails. He was well forward and the ball was bouncing, yet Mr Benson (the buffoon that he is) decided to raise the finger without a moment’s hesitation. Yes, the record books will say that Australia are now 16 wins in a row. But a win like this is worse than a loss as it has ruined whatever credibility they had in playing cricket. They have certainly taken Gentle out of the Gentleman’s game. It is a shame for the game of cricket the way this match has ended. And for once, I am with the Indian team even though they lost this match fighting against the entire system.
Oh, before I forget, Michael Slater of all people has the balls to defend Australia against racism. The biggest racist that the world has ever seen in cricket, now sits in his plush chair and comments on what’s ethical and what’s not. Hats off to Tony Greig who shut him up in the Cricket Show aired on Channel Nine on the 5th of Jan.
Saurav Ganguly is Shocked (rightly so)
This is what cost India the match

Hi Donjuan, Your rude and stupid comments reinforce my points about Australian players’ behavior in cricket. Quite unfortunately for you and the rest of the Australian public, the whole world condemns the behavior of Australia in cricket. Just because India has finally decided to take a stand, you are pissed off that someone has decided to challenge your “supremacy” in racism and sledging. Indian players never started sledging. All this bullshit about mental disintegration is exactly what it is – SHIT. So my friend, you be a man and face facts for once. This Australian team in particular is a disgrace to cricket. Oh, most of your players’ contracts for the IPL will not be given. Take that.

Listen, stop being f****** cry baby ok. You are so patethic that you idiots have taken away the fact that AUSTRALIA won, and since india lost your using laim ass cover ups to ignore the fact that you still lost the series. I understand there were a few bad decisions, but thats cricket, it evens out over the course of time. India is wildley known for making false stupid idiotic appeals. So when india gets a decision in their favor its ok? But when its not its a problem? U guys are fucking pathethic, ignorant school boys playing this game. Be A FUCKING MAN not A FUCKING FAGG, Lifes not fair, so? Does that mean we account all of our failures to it?
U Know what, Indian cricket is going to diminish once, sachin, dravid, kumble and ganguly are gone. Who’s left? Dhoni, yuvi??? Look their test averages, need i say more?
The only players you have left are Pathaan, RP and Sharma (which is still shaky) and u idiots want irfan to be a batsman all rounder, when he clearly can be one of the best left arm bowlers this game has seen.
CRY ALL YOU WANT, but after year or two, your not going to cry over umpiring decisions ,ur gnna cry over ur crappy team.
