Rajasthan succumb to Gayle-storm

Another day. Another match. Another fury unleashed by Chris Gayle. The man is in irrepressible form at the moment. He is sending a message to one and all. I thought Sehwag was the most destructive opener in the world. Well he now has company. Rajasthan found that out yesterday. Gayle smashed an unbeaten 70 from only 44 balls.

Gayle is now second in the leading run scorers of IPL 4, behind only Virender Sehwag.

Player Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 0 4s 6s
V Sehwag 11 11 0 424 119 38.54 240 176.66 1 2 0 51 18
(Delhi Daredevils)
CH Gayle 6 6 2 398 107 99.5 204 195.09 2 1 0 37 30
(Royal Challengers Bangalore)

The table above shows how far in front Gayle really is to Sehwag. Now I am not saying he is a better player than Sehwag or vice versa. Based purely on stats for this season, Gayle has been phenomenal. He has been instrumental in getting his team to rollicking starts and he is going to play a major role in the playoffs. Bangalore are going to be one of the teams to beat now.
