Sweet New Zealand

This post brought to you by Cheaperthanhotels.co.nz

Living in Australia for the better part of the last decade, I have always wanted to go to New Zealand. The abundance of natural beauty and the fact that they almost always kick our (India’s) butt in cricket has made this country my number one must-see destination.

I have been looking around for travel packages, accommodation and the like. I did find this really good website for Hotels in Auckland. They offer plenty of opportunities for cheap deals in good quality hotels. The rates are decent. I just did not like the overall design of the site, but then that’s the software engineer in me talking. For most people who are looking for cheap Auckland Accommodation, this is a good place to look.

I also found Tourism Auckland as a treasure trove for information about Auckland.  The site tells you about the latest events, places to visit, where to eat, etc. I would recommend this to any tourist looking for more information about the city.
For Auckland Hotels, Cheaperthanhotels.co.nz should be the place to start.

Hotel Reservations for you

This is a sponsored post

I would suggest you check out the Hotel Reservations site if you are traveling to anywhere in the world. The site also offers language and country customizations so I can view it in different countries and get special offers for a particular country. And its not just hotels that you can book. The website offers flight bookings, car rentals and vacation rentals. With vacation rentals, you can book an entire suite-type lodging with self-catering facilities (wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, etc.). Unlike hotels with per person pricing, there is a set price for an entire vacation rental with a maximum number of persons allowed.

HotelReservations.com is also offering guaranteed lowest rates and I recommend reading this page for the terms and conditions. You can end up saving up to 70% off.

You can also use the Destination Guide that will help you in getting recommendations on attractions, restaurants, hotels latest weather information, health tips and general information. For example, if I wanted to travel to Paris, I would click on France and then click on Paris. The information that I got was pretty amazing. I was informed of the lowest hotel and vacation rental rates. There was general information about Paris and the attractions that are worth seeing. On the left side there are links that give a whole variety of information like whats good to eat, which museums and monuments should I go to, shopping areas, a city directory and a whole lot more.

Accomodation info for International cricket fans

Found this great website that offers accomodation at very reasonable prices if you are a tourist and want to watch a match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). You can search for hotels in melbourne in your budget range or have a look at the deals that are offered at the bottom of the page.

According to the website you are supposed to get the cheapest deals guaranteed and you don’t have to pay the entire amount straightaway. You have the option of paying a deposit when you make the booking and then pay the rest of the amount on arrival at the hotel.

There are a lot of other websites that offer a searchable database, however this is still worth a look if you are interested in making a booking for a Melbourne hotel. There are also discounts available on group bookings.

For a cricket fan, nothing is better than watching a boxing day test at the MCG and if anyone is from anywhere besides Melbourne, you would want to sort out this as soon as possible. Watch the match as an Aussie fan or as a fan of the opposition team. Have a few drinks with your mates and then go to your hotel to relax for another gruelling day of cricket, well thats what you hope for unless Australia has already made sure of the result on the first day.
