India move to 3rd spot

With the Pataudi trophy safely tucked in their bag, the Indians had a lot to cheer about. The BCCI announced a 1 crore rupees bonus to the entire team. Plus the ICC rankings update ensured India are now placed at third even though they have the same rating points as Sri Lanka. With a couple of major series coming up for the Indians in the next few months, expect this rating to either go up to 2nd or drop down to 5th or 6th. Zaheer Khan has also broken through the ICC Top 10 Test Bowlers and is now at 10th. He joins Anil Kumble as the second Indian bowler in the Top 10 Test Bowlers. Rahul Dravid’s not so spectacular form sees him drop out of the Top 10 Test Batsmen.
