Veoh in legal trouble
Popular video sharing website Veoh.com is in a legal tussle with UMG over copyright infringement. Veoh claims that it does not promote its users to share illegal videos and that its protected under the DMCA. So, instead of UMG suing Veoh, the website has already filed a petition to seek protection from any lawsuits that Vivendi’s UMG may harbor against it. Veoh claims that they actively remove files that infringe on copyrights and they take extra steps like suspending member accounts permanently.
