This move by Intel is a perfect image of globalization because Vietnam ’s technology sector is relatively small. The
country is known for exporting coffee and black pepper, but with a

investment, it will completely change the economy. There will be more employment and I will

assume that the chips being made there will also be at a much lower cost. Thus,
not only will this have great effect on the Vietnamese economy, but it
will be a great asset to the American economy as well since chips are
more likely to be sold at a cheaper price.

I agree with you. Actually its not just vista, even PS3 after currency conversion comes out to be about AUD 750, however its retail price has been set up as AUD 999. When it comes to tech, anything in Australia is a bloody rip-off, unfortunately. Even my video camera, I had to buy from Singapore. And that was 2 yrs ago, the price in Australia is still more expensive for that same model.

Hi Nanda, It looks as though you guys in Oz are suffering from the same outrageous Microsoft pricing policy that we in the UK are. Microsoft talks a good talk, but the financial model that Jeff Putt tossed out to you looks to be complete nonsense. It seems there is still a bottle neck at the hard drive. The hard drive can’t keep up with these new CPUs. Seems like someone needs to come out with a better, faster hard drive so we can really take advantage of these super fast CPUs such as the Quad FX and Quad Core CPUs. What do you all think?
